How it works

What working with us looks like

01

We take on the setup

Payroll account, remitter frequency, pay periods and employee records brought into one place.

02

You approve, we run

You confirm hours and changes. We run the payroll, send the deposits and make the remittance.

03

Year end happens on its own

T4s and summaries filed from the payroll we have been running all year.

Who it is for

Is this the right service for you?

You have gone from a couple of people to a real team, and the spreadsheet is not enough.

You are not completely certain your remitter frequency is correct.

Vacation pay, statutory holidays or overtime are calculated differently each month.

An ROE has gone out late, or gone out wrong.

T4 season costs you a week you had other plans for.

Questions

Questions about Payroll & HR Support

Do you give employment-law advice?

No, and it is worth being plain about the line. We handle payroll, the remittances and the administrative paperwork. Questions about employment standards, notice periods, termination entitlements or a dispute with an employee are for an employment lawyer, and we will tell you so rather than improvise — getting that wrong is expensive in a way that a payroll error is not.

Can you take over mid-year?

Yes. Mid-year transitions are routine; what matters is that the year-to-date figures come across accurately, because the T4s at the end depend on them. We reconcile what has already been paid and remitted before running anything ourselves.

What happens if a remittance is late?

CRA charges a penalty on the amount, and it escalates for repeat lateness within the same year. Source deductions are also money held in trust rather than the corporation’s own funds, which is why this particular obligation is treated more seriously than most and why directors can be held personally liable for it.

Do you handle contractors as well as employees?

We can process payments to contractors and prepare T4As where they are required. The prior question — whether someone genuinely is a contractor rather than an employee — is one we will raise if the arrangement looks like a risk, because CRA reassessing that after the fact is costly and lands on the business, not the worker.
